Sydney Excursions
- Chinese Gardens at Darling Harbour – The Chinese Gardens is the result of a close
bond of friendship between the sister cities of Sydney and Guangzhou in Guangdong Province China.The garden was designed and built by Chinese landscape architects and gardeners. The Gardens are similar to every classical Chinese garden, traditional principles govern the use of four key elements of water, plants, stone and architecture. Together these four elements combine to create perfect balance.| - Hyde Park Barracks Museum – Constructed by convict labour between 1817 and 1819 the Barracks is one of the finest works of the accomplished colonial architect Francis Greenway. As the principal male convict barracks in New South Wales it provided lodgings for convicts working in government employment around Sydney until its closure in 1848.Discover the daily lives of convicts and other occupants through exhibitions on Sydney’s male convict labour force, Australia’s convict system, an innovative soundscape, excavated artifacts, exposed layers of building fabric and the complex’s rooms and spaces.
- Powerhouse Museum – A visit to the Powerhouse Museum combines observation and interaction to enhance students’ knowledge and understanding, while developing new learning skills and interests across a wide range of study areas.
Canberra Excursions
- Australian War Memorial – The complex, its contents and wide range of activities, form the core of the nation’s tribute to the sacrifice and achievement of 102,000 Australian men and women who died serving their country and to those who served overseas and at home.
Activities can include: Discovery Zone, Go Back to the Source, Australia Under Attack, Anzac Legacy, Strange but True, Closing Ceremony plus many more.
- Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex – As part of NASA’s Deep Space Network they focus on “ears” on the cosmos, listening to signals from spacecraft studying the Earth, the Sun and exploring moons and planets across our Solar System on beyond
As one of only three tracking stations in the world, the Complex features four radio antennas, including the giant 70-metre steerable antenna – the largest in the Southern Hemisphere – as well as the historic “dish” which relayed the first images of man walking on the Moon
Discover a piece of Moon rock over 3.8 billion years old, see the flightsuit worn by Australian astronaut Andy Thomas and check out a full-scale replica of the latest robotic rover to go to Mars. Learn what’s on the menu at the International Space Station, discover the latest breakthroughs in astronomy or watch a movie about the amazing future of space exploration
- Australian National Botanic Gardens – The only place in the world where students can see one third of Australia’s 21,000 native plants in one day! Through this living encyclopaedia of native plants the Gardens offer hands-on activities, discovery based expeditions, free teacher resources, fresh air and heaps of educational fun
Activities can include: Twilight Forest Adventure, Around Oz in an Hour
Snow Excursions
- Perisher Valley Tube Town – Snow Tubing is a fantastic low-cost snow experience for first time Perisher visitors in a fun, safe and organised environment as well as offering an exciting alternative for seasoned snow lovers.Tube Town has specially groomed lanes allowing fun lovers and thrill-seekers of all ages to enjoy a high-speed ride down the slopes and a lift back to the top, on a purpose built lift. No skill is required, just the desire to have fun.
- Kosciuszko National Park Education Centre – Kosciuszko Game Show – The Centre teaches students about the natural and cultural heritage of Kosciuszko National Park
and the importance of national parks in general.Students use the information they gather from display boards to compete in a loud, outlandish game show. The students enjoy the challenge of a competitive game and the opportunity to support their team by cheering. Teachers will see that their students are learning without being aware of it. The students work sheets (cheat notes) are taken home by the teacher. - Snowy Mountains Scheme Information and Education Centre – The Centre focuses on the Snowy Mountains Schemes power stations, dams, water resources and energy market but it also includes displays on key topics such as environment, engineering, history and irrigation. Exhibits range from pedal-power bikes, an interactive energy market and hands-on models reinforce a dynamic learning experience for students of all ages. Education Officers at the Centre deliver tailored presentations to students about the Scheme, as well as showing some of the many films in our lecture theatres.

Please note: Many venues are subject to availability as they fill up fast, and in some cases an upper limit to how many students can attend during one session. We always endeavour to secure bookings for schools and at times may need to book multiple sessions to accommodate large school groups.
